International Women’s Day 2022 takes place on Tuesday, March 8th.

How do you plan to celebrate?

In partnership with Municipalities NL, Equal Voice NL has created a International Women’s Day Toolkit for Community Celebration! In this toolkit, you will find out information about this year’s IWD theme #BreakTheBias, as well as 8 different kinds of activities that you can put off in your community!

Many of these activities can be done in multiple settings – online, in-person, or hybrid. If you choose to hold an event in-person, please follow public health restrictions. Many of these activities are easy to organize and scalable. Additionally, we provide a great deal of resources and advice to draw from in the appendices of the toolkit, to make planning easy for you!

Planning & Support Session

We held a Planning & Support Session on Wednesday February 23 at 12pm NST (11:30am in most parts of Labrador). If you missed it, contact us and we will have still help you out!

Releasing this toolkit on February 16, that gives you one week to let the information sink in and start your preliminary organizing steps, before our planning meeting. Then you have an additional 1.5 weeks to put the finishing touches on your celebrations! Tons of time to celebrate important women leaders (current as well as up-and-coming) and create space for more women leadership in your respective communities.

Happy IWD planning!
