Cassondra Murray
they/she

Cassondra (they/she) is a neurodivergent & 2SLGBTQ community member and volunteer, currently employed at Spirit Horse NL as a Peer Supporter & Program Assistant. She draws from her experiences as a multiply marginalized/under represented person in order to better serve her community.
Her goal is to uplift marginalized voices by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from receiving adequate support and being represented within leadership roles/politics. She is a firm believer in the power of community aide, and is dedicated to looking at the world through a decolonized point of view.
She has volunteered on Planned Parenthood’s 2SLGBTQ Warm Line and the Newfoundland & Labradors Sexual Assault Crisis & Prevention Centre 24 hour support line. She holds certification in Restorative Justice/Practices through Yukon Circle of Change, and has recently completed the Empowering Ourselves: Exploring Intimate Partner Violence facilitator training program through the Status of Women Council & Peer Support training through the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.
In her free time, Cassondra is an experimental vocal artist who has leant her voice to numerous causes, festivals, studies, and events.
Cassondra is grateful to the First Light Friendship Centre, Relationships First NL, St. John’s Status of Women’s Council, The Jacob Puddister Memorial Foundation, The Canadian Council on Rehabilitation & Work, Choices For Youth, The Journey Project, and Stella’s Circle for their courageous work advocating for vulnerable and marginalized populations.
